Food Machine. Gauteng - South Africa

Ryan Keyser (PG_TotalGee) has asked me to assist him in running a food machine event on the 6th of November. Info Here!

This is a very awesome event started by NJ SOBS.

The event allows you to cheat during your games by donating cans of food. One example is that you can donate 1 can for a re-roll of dice once per turn and the extreme is for 10 cans you can have a opponent lose advance deploy on a unit or have +1 MAT, RAT, DEF, ARM on any non-character beast or 'jack.

I am really looking forward to this event as all the proceeds will go to the TLC home for abandoned orphans, most of the children a HIV/AIDS orphan which is really sad.

Without the care and love given to the kids from the staff at the home I really don't think they would have gotten as far in life as they have. Lets hope this event is a great success.

So far we only have a handful of players but knowing our local community they will only wake up in the last week.

Press Ganger application on its way!

Ok so last night I got my Cryx Battle Box finished. I am very happy with the way they came out. I am a bit sad that I have no clue on how to blend so the "furnace" green is very flat. A friend did offer to do it for me but I decided against it. I also have a gripe with the Denegra model, What the hell where the sculptors thinking when they made those tiny blades on her back. One fell off before painting and my son managed to break another one off just before i took the pictures.

I took pictures of both battle boxes so I thought I should put up my finished Cygnar as well.

Lets hope that the application is approved so that we can start partaking in the international campaigns and so that I can get our little community on the international Radar.

Local is Lekker!

June last year I wrote this little piece, it was all about how our LGS' don't give us the time of day and have awful mark-ups on their prices. It also highlighted the time that it took to get our models.

I have been using a very well know online retailer from the UK and have had very little hassles with them beside them being so busy that they run out of Pre-order stock before they have even get all their pre-orders out which increases my waiting time by +/- 2 weeks, while thay wait for more stoke from PP in the US.

A couple of months ago a fellow gamer, seeing how Warmahordes was taking off, decide to start his only little PP stocked shop. He has call it Tribal Games. Granted the site might need to be re-vamp and needs a serious stock update but for now it is a start. With our exchang rate never being as stable as other countries I can understand why he would be reluctant to put prices on his site when our currency strengthens/weakens against the dollar 4 or 5 times a day.....Love you 3rd world.

One thing I must say is that he has really helped us, and I mean a lot, with prize support. He has bought tournament coins and given very nice vouchers in support of our events. Last weekend 1st place got a floating trophy, with the resin slayer on top, R200 ($30) voucher and a gold coin. Not too shabby if you ask me.

Update on PG Challenge:
This photo was taken last night before the army painter dip had a chance to dry. I will need to dry brush/highlight a bit this afternoon and get some matt varnish on him to take away the shine.

Tonight is gaming night so if I have no challengers I will start on Dene and try get her out of the way.

Hopefully we will have our PG applications through before the end of the month......man I want a WM T-Shirt.

Pressganger Challenge!

So I have officially challenged Ryan Keyser (Northern suburbs PG wannabe). The challenge is to get our Pressganger membership before the end of the year so that we can have an awesome Warmahordes tournament season next year.

He replied by saying that he will have his 2nd battle box painted up by the end of next week, dammit for not choosing Khador as well, so not to be outdone I accepted the challenge and have started painting the Cryx starterbox that I bought for my lovely wife (lets hope she's reading this).

I had already assembled them about 2 months ago and had given them a black base coat so the base work was done.

As you can see on the slayer I am going for a Catachan Green base. It looks very nice with the shining gold and boltgun metal. I will finish off the base colours tonight and get the Army painter dip on.

Here is a WIP of the slayer, once i have him done I will know what my scheme is and Ill do the chickens together.

Out come the wolves:
On a side note, we had a tournament this past weekend and it was my worst placing since starting WM.

I came 9th out of 12 Players. I played 6/7 games as I had to attend my son's first school concert.

I played well but made really silly mistakes against models that I do not see in my local Meta. Who knew Mage Hunter assassins could be that insane, or that Terminus would be able to fly past everything and kick eStryker in the face......oh well wont happen again.
